What to look out for?

  • Sender

The sender is supposedly drs@domain-registry.nl. That address belongs to SIDN, but the messages don't really come from us. Our address has been 'spoofed' – in other words, faked by a spammer.

  • Content

The messages ask you to log in to your PayPal account by following a link. However, the link doesn't lead to the real PayPal log-in page. It leads to a fake page, set up to trick you into giving your log-in details. So don't follow the link.

What you can do

SIDN is already taking action to stop the e-mail messages being sent using our address. Unfortunately, putting a halt to this kind of fraud takes time. We are therefore also warning everyone about the problem, and asking you to pass on the warning. If you receive a message like the one above, please report it to fraudehelpdesk.nl.
