SIDN Fund to support academic research

Starting in 2017, SIDN Fund will extend the scope of its support to include academic research. Grant applications are now being accepted, and the closing date is 17 January 2017.

Are you a researcher at a research university or a university of applied sciences? Are you looking to set up a research project in collaboration with a university? If you are, and if your research ties in with the aims of SIDN Fund, you are encouraged to submit a proposal before 17 January.By offering grants to academic researchers, SIDN Fund hopes to encourage research, development and innovation aligned with the Fund's objectives. The intention is to support research projects with the potential to yield academic knowledge that will help make the internet stronger and reinforce the position of end users. Particular importance is attached to multidisciplinary content and to the valorisation and utilisation of academic knowledge. When assessing applications, the Fund will therefore consider not only academic quality, but also the likely social value and impact of the proposed research.
