The eleventh edition of the Benelux's biggest e-commerce event - the Webwinkel Vakdagen ('Webshop Trade Days') – takes place on 18 and 19 January 2017. Crooks are increasingly trying to trick internet users with e-mails and websites that look as if they come from or belong to well-known, reliable companies. With banks and other financial service providers nowadays making things very difficult for internet fraudsters, criminals are turning their attention to the e-commerce sector. Researchers have found that 32.4 per cent of attacks are aimed at webshops, while 'only' 25.7 per cent target banks.
Increasing digitisation of the commercial sector means that phishing is a real problem for internet shoppers and a threat to the on-line reputations of webshops. How can you spot a phishing mail, and how can you minimise the risk of your website being affected? At the Webwinkel Vakdagen, SIDN will be using a phishing game to demonstrate how this form of cybercrime works and how easy it is to get caught out.Reserve your free entry tickets for the Webwinkel Vakdagen
