Between 5 and 10 per cent of all computers are in botnets. In other words, they are infected with viruses, causing them take part in abusive activities without their owners being aware of it. It's a problem that we want to see resolved. Dutch internet service providers are therefore teaming up to organise De Grote Schoonmaak ('The Big Clean-up'). It only takes fifteen minutes to get your computer(s) scanned for viruses and other junk – so why not make time today? You'll then know that your computer is free of malware, which has got to be good! For details visit www.veiliginternetten.nl.
The Big Clean-up is an initiative by the members of the Abuse Information Exchange, set up by KPN, SIDN, Solcon, Tele2, XS4ALL, Zeelandnet and Ziggo. The AIE is dedicated to speeding up and enhancing the response to botnet infections, in order to improve the security and stability of the internet.
