Since late 2013, subscribers have been using our Domain Name Surveillance Service (DBS) to successfully detect phishing and brand abuse. DBS detects and monitors domain names that look very like your brand name. Ziggo, various financial institutions and the Dutch National government are among the service's satisfied users. To make regular use of the DBS, you need a subscription. There are two service options:
There's DBS web, with an intuitive web interface where you can manage all your results and easily categorise alerts. The application also has a workflow tool, enabling you to refer alerts to colleagues with a couple of clicks. Web service subscribers have access to an array of other useful features that make setting management straightforward.
Alternatively, DBS feed is a simple data feed, ideal for those who want to receive 'raw' data for local processing. The information is available in XML, JSON or e-mail format. DBS feed is suitable mainly for monitoring numerous search terms or brand names.
If you prefer not to take out a subscription, the DBS pre-scan may be what you need. A pre-scan is a one-off search of the entire .nl domain name database, looking for domain names that are very like your brand name. On completion of the search, you get a list of matches and associated registration data. The advantage of using the pre-scan is that you can use it at intervals of your own choosing.
