Our head of SIDN Labs, Cristian Hesselman, has been appointed to ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC). The appointment was made at the public meeting of the ICANN board on March 16 in Copenhagen, where the 58th ICANN meeting took place.

The SSAC advises the ICANN community and board on how they can preserve and enhance the operational security, stability, resilience, and interoperability of the internet’s naming and address allocation systems. The output of the SSAC consists of advisories that are based on ongoing threat assessments and risk analyses by the committee’s 31 technical experts, for instance regarding the security and stability of the Domain Name System (DNS).
Cristian was appointed for a three-year term on the SSAC, beginning immediately and ending on December 31, 2019.
