Story behind the domain name deyogiclub.nl
On Thursday 18 June, entrepreneur Cindy Woesthuis registered the domain name deyogiclub.nl. By doing so, she took the .nl domain past the milestone of six million registered domain names. To celebrate, we treated Cindy and representatives of Openprovider and Robohost to cake, flowers and champagne. After the surprise celebration, Cindy told us about her business plans and her decision to get her own .nl domain name, deyogiclub.nl.

"I started as a nurse – I worked in acute psychiatry, mental health detention and addiction care for a good many years. But when I reached forty I decided it was time for a change. So I gave up my job and took a plunge into the unknown. Shortly afterwards, I got involved with yoga after attending an information day about Raja Yoga at the Yoga School in Enschede. Everything just clicked and I got really keen." "I've now been teaching yoga for five years. I want other people to be able to enjoy yoga the way I do. So my mission is now to introduce as many people as possible to yoga. I don't mean getting everyone to immerse themselves in the philosophy and the study of yoga. My aim is simply to give people a taste of yoga, an idea of what it's all about. Then they can decide for themselves whether yoga is something for them or not." Yoga has figured prominently in the activities of Cindy and husband Jeroen Woesthuis's business Act in Move for several years. Creating a dedicated website to raise the profile of the yoga side of the business was a natural development. And a website needs a domain name: deyogiclub.nl.
"A yogi is someone who practises yoga, or makes yoga part of their life. The word 'club' conveys the sense of people getting together to share an activity or interest – yoga, in this case. I was also inspired by an article that mentioned the 'conscious club'. Put all that together and you get 'the yogi club'. Hence my domain name: 'deyogiclub.nl'."
"Everything that's been happening in the world recently has led me to focus more on my dream for the future, my ultimate aim: to expand yoga and link up with aligned disciplines to help people get closer to themselves. Help them find peace and equilibrium in a world and a society where peace and equilibrium can seem elusive. Amongst the people using Act in Move's coaching services, we're seeing more and more people struggling with stress and burnout problems." "Having my own website brings me a little closer to that ultimate objective. It means I can reach out, and I can share music, lessons, photos, recipes, poems, knowledge and spoken word recordings with my audience. It means I can introduce people to yoga on line. In time, there are other things I hope to do with the website. For example, I've got contacts in Nepal, including people I met when I went there as a co-teacher on a yoga-centred cultural visit. I'd love to help my Nepalese contacts by offering some of their products for sale on my site."
"I believe that if something is problematic for you, it's best to let it go. Sometimes I'll look for an alternative path, but I try to go with the natural flow. If something doesn't feel right, I don't do it. That way, you remain true to yourself. I'd encourage others to take that approach. Make sure you've got a clear mission and vision, and keep everything you do aligned with them. Listen to your heart and follow your intuition. That's the way to get the best out of yourself."
