At a ceremony in Brussels on 3 October, Barbara Povše of Register.si and Bert ten Brinke of SIDN received a CENTR Award for the project 'Security for Register.si'. Recognition for Registrer.si and SIDN came under the award category 'Safe and Sound DNS'. The jury described the project as an excellent example of knowledge sharing within the CENTR community and how collaboration can contribute to the professionalisation of information security for a country-code domain.
For the last eighteen months, Bert has been making regular trips to Slovenia to help Register.si enhance its information security in preparation for ISO27001 certification. Barbara turned to SIDN for support because we have been ISO-certified since 2011. Our experience means that few people know more than Bert about what's needed to create a professional information security set-up.
Professional information security for Register.si
After a year and a half of development, Register.si now has a professional information security system featuring processes for risk and incident management. The registry's personnel have also been trained to operate and improve the system independently. Conclusion of the project means that Register.si is almost ready for ISO27001 certification.

CENTR
The organisation behind the awards is CENTR, an association of predominantly European country-code domains (ccTLD's). Now in its third year, the award scheme was set up to encourage registries to aspire to high quality standards and to develop the best possible applications. As well as providing a discussion platform for ccTLD registries, CENTR acts as a medium for communication with the organisations involved in development of the internet, including ICANN.
