Nijmegen municipality aims for data minimisation with Yivi

Giving citizens more control over their own data and applying data minimisation in the internal processes are important spearheads for the Municipality of Nijmegen. A transparent government and reducing the amount of information the municipality requests from its citizens. This is included in the coalition agreement 2022-2026. Yivi plays an important role in achieving these objectives. It is a next step in the longer cooperation between the Municipality of Nijmegen and Yivi.

Residents and businesses in Nijmegen can choose from various digital login options when doing business with the municipality. Besides the standard solutions such as DigiD and eHerkenning (eRecognition), this can also be done with Yivi for certain products. And that is not entirely coincidental, as Nijmegen has now built up quite a track record with the use of Yivi. For instance, it was this municipality that a few years back ensured that the Basic Registration of Personal Data (BRP) was made accessible so that every Dutch citizen could retrieve this information about themselves in the app. Read the full article on Yivi.app
